At the end of 2014 I wrote this article about the possible collapse of the economy of China in the years to come. Since december 27th, 2014, this article has generated 2.670 views.
View counts like that may sound very low and insignificant.
But in reality it means that hundreds of people have been seriously reading my material.
My day-job is being a lecturer at university.
And grabbing the attention of a few hundred students in a way that will seriously make them read your article, is not easy;-)
On top of these 2.670 views, I get a few e-mail responses, some people post a comment under the article, I have generated some Twitter followers with the article and I even make a few dollars of advertising money. By the way, don’t underestimate the effect these articles can have on your Twitter following. Have a look at my Twitter profile and you will understand what I mean;-)

The fun I have writing these articles combined with this very modest spin-off, satisfies me.
And then I go on to the next article.
This week I decided to recycle that article by means of creating a Youtube Video.
I embedded the video above, so feel free to click and watch it.
I thought that perhaps this way I could bring my ideas about the Chinese economy to a larger audience.
Because, let’s be honest, these days people don’t like to read, they like to watch!
I uploaded this video this morning and after a few hours it already had over a 100 views.
I know, sounds like nothing, doesn’t it?
But I am very pleased pleased with that and I am curious as to how this video will pick up more views during the weeks to come.
Below I will post some updates now and then regarding the view count of this video.
It would be interesting to see if this is an effective way of bringing my existing material to larger audiences.
So looking from that perspective, this an internet marketing strategy experiment too.
Let’s see what happens…
So: Friday, april 15th, 2016, 12.00 P.M: 110 Youtube views.
Saturday, april 16th, 14.15 hours: 540 Youtube views.
Sunday, april 17th, 14.45 hours: 652 Youtube views.
