About me

Hans at Berlin Wall

Hi there! My name is Hans Netten. I make a living as senior lecturer at The Hague University in The Netherlands. I like my job, I like my family and I am happy with the modest townhouse I can call home. I appear to be healty, I have no financial worries and I get to see many parts of Europe and the rest of the world. When You come to think of it, I should count my blessings each and every day.

Now I know that nothing lasts forever.
One day, the light will be turned off, so to speak, and my life will be over.
So sad, but that is one of the few things I am certain about.

That’s why I promised myself a long time ago to now and then do something that will transcend my daily routines. Preferably stuff that appears meaningful, innovative or entertaining to me. Not because I think I have some special talent to do remarkable things, no, just because it makes me feel alive.

With my website www.hansnetten.com I wish to share my activities and thoughts with the public.
Yep, having a website about myself will probably give You the impression I am a rather vain person with a big ego. I guess there’s not much to argue about that. As long as I don’t hurt or offend anyone with it, I can live with the idea I am an attention grabber.

It would genuinely make me happy if You will find stuff on my website that You think is fun, useful or inspiring. If that is the case, all my efforts to make this website are worthwile to me.

Thank You for Your attention and kind regards,

Hans Netten
